Total Ghana Supports Athletics


The University of Ghana Sports Directorate has received support from Total Ghana Limited for the 54th Inter-Hall Athletics Competition scheduled for Wednesday, 25th to Friday, 27th October 2017 at the UG Main Stadium.

The Oil company presented a cheque of Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢20, 000.00) to the University of Ghana Sports Directorate, organizers of the competition on Tuesday, 17th October, 2017 at the premises of the Sports Directorate.

The Human Resource Director at Total Ghana Limited, Mr. Bright Dokosi was elated to have such collaboration with the premier University in Ghana.

“We are glad to partner UG Sports Directorate for this year’s Inter-Hall Athletics Competition. It is our aim to be on board for future activities of the Sports Directorate and as well to be seen much more on the campus of UG.”

Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu (Director of Sports, UG) on behalf of the Management of UG and of Sports Directorate thanked Total Ghana Limited for approving such a support. He was glad the Directorate for the second consecutive year has received support from cooperate Ghana for the UG Inter-Hall Athletics Competition.

“We are happy to receive further sponsorship this year from Total Ghana. We will as much as possible try to open up new ways of funding and managing sports, especially University sports. We are excited this deal went through and we look forward to a great competition.”

He invited all and sundry to come and cheer students of UG as well as fraternize with them.


The Assistant Registrar of the Sports Directorate, Mrs. Regina Afari Boateng also expressed excitement at the partnership.

“We are very grateful to Total Ghana for this donation. The relationship has started well, which actually began during the Total Solar Lamp 5km Race. We hope the relationship will not end with this exercise but we will continue to collaborate on different fronts for our mutual benefits”.

Total Ghana received the 2016 Best Customer Service and 2016 Best Brand (Environment / Safety) during the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) Ghana Awards.
