Mr Henry Nii Sackey (Head Coach, UG Sports Directorate) expressed the importance of using the stadium and the impetus it will give the athletes in their quest to perform better.
“The ground at the Athletic Oval has become very hard which is not conducive for the health of athletes hence the switch to use the Stadium. The effect of running on tartan track will give them an easy run which could improve their performance and their time. It will also afford them the platform to be acquainted with the terrain of competing on a tartan track ahead of the Ghana Universities Sports Association Games to be held in Tamale in January 2018.”
Mr. Clenard Adayina Bawa a Sports Organiser at the Sports Directorate averred that the necessary logistics are all in place to ensure the competition becomes better than previous years. He added that all stakeholders are prepared and ready for the event. Click here to see the programme
